Anyone who orders the cartridge in November will get a special gift from me! HOHOHO- put this on your Christmas list!
Yesterday was a crazy day! I started by dressing up the dogs. I love doing that every year. Duke did very well! Completely adorable!
Daisy was thrilled. All she cared about was playing with her frisbee!
The rest of the morning was all about Jazzercise. Our class dressed up and danced to our favorite Halloween songs. My favorite- I WANT CANDY! I did not have a costume planned so I dressed up as The Queen Of Jazzercise Hearts! Take a peek at my selfie! Total Geek!
Yes, I actually wore the hat. The class was small today but I knew I HAD to work out. I have done really well by not eating candy, but if I had not worked out- I would have given in and eaten bags of it. I am giving up sugar as long as I can. Take a peek at the hard core Gulf Breeze Jazzercisers!
Jane and Trisha tag taught. Those girls are on fire- small but full of energy. We sweated our fannies off. We did have a contest. I won first place. WOOOHOO- I’d like to think my costume was all that, but I think I won because I curtsied to the judges!
I love Halloween. Every year it is super fun! Now it is time to focus on Thanksgiving!
Oh how I love our new Washi Tape. Watch this quick video on a unique way to use Washi Tape with your Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridges to make this darling card!

Here are the directions-
• Buy a glass block from the craft store with a hole in the bottom.
• Purchase some black vinyl for your Cricut Machine. (it is not a CTMH product)
• Cut the Haunted House from the artbooking cartride6.75 inches.
• Cut the Bat from the artbooking cartridge2 inches.
• Stick on block
• Buy some orange lights and put inside the block.
• Tie a bow on the top. I used mesh ribbon.
• SIMPLE, FAST, EASY and FUN, FUN, FUN! My kind of project. Enjoy!
Before and after:
Can’t wait to make different designs for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Love that Artbooking Cartridge. If you have not ordered your cartridge yet- do so soon! You won’t be sorry!
I just finished working a three day crop and I came home exhausted but inspired. I actually had time to work my booth, teach classes and create layouts. I feel like wonder woman!
I have shared with many of you, that I am way behind on scrapbooking. I want to share with you what I am doing to catch up. Everyone is talking about Becky Higgins program- Project Life and how great it is. If you know me, you know that I am A.D.D. and I have only studied part of her program. But as I was reading and learning about it- I have developed my own version of Project Life. For my personal use, I have decided to do monthly pages using her concept. I am calling it Pocket Style Scrapbooking.
This is how I got started. I first went to Facebook and Instagram and pulled all my photos and put them in order of month. Then I decided what photos I wanted to scrapbook. I bought a Cannon Selpy 9000 so I could print my own photos, directly from my iphone and i pad. Love it- great for me since I am terrible at pre-planning.
Next I went through my scraps of paper and cut them the two main sizes used for our scrapbooking pockets- 4 x 6 and 3 x 6. I wanted to have everything ready and at my fingertips so when I went to a crop or found a minute or two to scrapbook- things were available. Then I filed them into our Medium Organizer- PERFECT SIZE for Project Life- Pocket Style Scrapbooking.
Then I bought tons of vertical and horizontal page protectors and started scrapbooking- by month. OMG- the lightbulb went on. So fast, so simple, so easy. And as a bonus- it looks great. Take a peek at one of my January pages-
Love it, love it, love it! I am using our WORK IN PROGRESS BINDER to keep it all organized. That way I can add things if I wish. Can you believe that I am all caught up on my scrapbooking for 2013? WOWSA- Mama! I am so proud!
I love this concept so much that I have decided to start teaching it. I taught it at the crop this past weekend and everyone loved it. And, since I am all caught up, I have started developing kits with our beautiful papers and I am creating monthly pages ahead. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I taught a fall layout at the crop this past weekend. My layout does not have photos on it because I am saving it for the Chickn’ Yard. The Chickn’ Yard is just that- a chicken yard at my Grandma’s farm in Georgia. I am gong to spend Thanksgiving there next month and I have layouts ready for my Thanksgiving Photos. YAY ME!
This layout was 6 1/2 pages. Yes, 6 1/2 because I incorporated a 8 x 12 flip flap into it! The flip flap is the tree. Many have asked about the tree and that was cut from our Artbooking Cricut cartridge! Sorry for the glare in the photos. It is extremely difficult to take photos when the pages are in protectors!

The desert sand and cocoa mats are where photos would go. It looks kind of plain in the photo but it is beautiful when you add photos. One of my students and friend, Meredith Painter, created this layout in class. She added photos from last year. They are beautiful. I asked her permission if I could take photos of her page with layouts on them, and publish them on my blog. She said yes, so I am posting below. Her photos were amazing and the page looks great. I think I forgot to take one photo of one of her pages so I will post what i have. Also Meredith changed her order a little. That is ok too. That is the beauty of this program. You make it work for you!
Not sure what that white circle is on the photo- I think it may have been an embellishment of mine that was on the table- lol. Just ignore it!
Meredith has a beautiful family and does exceptional work. Thank you for letting me share your layouts Meredith!

Although I am a total summer, warm weather, beach gal, I do have a soft spot for Fall! I love all the pumpkins and decorations. I used to be a Kindergarten teacher so I love playing dress up and Halloween is the holiday to dress up! We are having a ‘grey” day here in Florida- due to Tropical whatever it is Karen- so I decided to celebrate Fall in a Florida kinda way! Last year I started a SPOOKY decoration for my mantel and never finished it! Today it is done!!!! I added the embellishments and put it on the mantel. This is done with last year’s Halloween paper, but I still wanted to post the final product! I like the way it turned out!
I also made my traditional pumpkin cookies. The thing that is so great about these cookies- is it takes 3 ingredients to make them. You know me- I’m a Simple, fast and easy kind of gal! They are so yummy- good thing I am sharing them with friends tonight!
Here is the recipe- ( they are so easy, I am almost embarrassed to share it)
1. Start with 3 ingredients- Carrot Cake Mix, 1 Cup Pumpkin and Creme Cheese Frosting (that is all you need)
2. Mix 1 cup pumpkin and dry cake mix. MIx in blender until moist!
3. After batter is mixed, spoon onto cookie sheet. Flatten with glass dipped lightly in flour. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. YUMMY!
So, there you have it. That is how I am celebrating fall today. How you are celebrating?
And just because I could not resist- here is a Daisy- Duke photo taken this weekend. He is growing so fast- I can’t believe it!
Happy Fall Ya’ll!
I have been missing for a week or so. That is because I have been “nesting”! Yesterday was such a happy day. We added a new family member- a beautiful English Springer Spaniel puppy named Duke!
I didn’t think yesterday would ever get here. We decided to make Duke’s homecoming a family affair. Kent and I packed up Daisy, picked up my Dad and headed towards Alabama to Brownwell Kennells- smiling the entire two hour plus drive. Kent couldn’t drive the jeep fast enough for me!
Once we got there, Duke was waiting. He is so loving- he just wants to be cuddled! I think he remembered us from our visit where he picked us as his parents. He ran right up to me- not shy or timid at all!
We took lots of photos., played with the puppies and just enjoyed being at Brownwell Kennels for the afternoon!
Below is Tracy. (Duke’s midwife- LOL) She is the owner of Brownwell Kennells. She breeds the most amazing dogs. We got Daisy from her eight years ago. You can visit her online at www.brownwellkennels.net. If you are ever in the market for an English Springer Spaniel- you must visit Tracy! Her dogs are the best and beautiful too!
I am such a goober. I was so happy to pick Duke up, but so sad to take him away from his other family! I cried when we pulled away from Brownwell Kennels. But, my sadness didn’t last long. Duke and I cuddled the entire way home. He is such a good baby!
When we got home Duke ate, played, visited with friends and family and then went to sleep. We borrowed a playpen from Aunt Debbie and he seems to love it. He slept all night right next to our bed. It was a great night! I feel a scrapbook page in the making!
Thanks for letting me share my special day with you. I will be in and out of the office all week- trying to get our new baby settled. If you are in the area- come visit us! Duke loves company!
One of my favorite paper packs from the new idea book is Huntington. And one of my favorite products in the new catalog is the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge. So it was a no brainer when I sat down to create artwork this weekend. I used the Huntington Paper Packet and the Artbooking Cartridge. This is what I came up with – 4 cards and a great layout.
I love, love, love this layout. On the right page, the tree is cut from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge. I added Huntington Papers to the background to make that tree “pop” For the tree trunk I stamped a background stamp D1559 Geometric Backgrounds in chocolate on chocolate card stock. I also added arrows from the stamp set C1561 One-Way Borders. Love these background stamps- there are so many possibilities in using them. On the left page I cut the word “grateful” from Artbooking. Added a few of my favorite photos and an accent stamp from the set B1427 Perfect Fit- Thanksgiving! To finish the layout I added embellishments z1881 Huntington Assortment! So fun, so cool!
After completing the layout I went on to card making! Love these cards- take a peek-
The first two cards I used the stamp set Happy Autumn. I used sponge daubers and three colors of ink to create the flowers!
This last card I used C1559 Always Grateful. Love the tree stamps! So fun to use three colors on the tree- Olive, Barn Red and Autumn Teracotta. I loved the way it turned out.
If I didn’t enjoy summer so much I would be happy for the fall season to start. I just love these papers. I hope you enjoyed todays artwork as I really enjoyed making them!
